I like the way the Washington Post has used such a wide measure for its front-page inauguration image. Also that they’ve embedded the slide show right into the page. Simple but effective.

Compfight.com makes light work of searching Flickr for images. Type in a keyword or two, hit enter and you get a full page of images to look at - small enough to see lots on one page but not so small as to be hard to see. If you see one you like, click on it and it takes you through to the image page on Flickr. Genius.

Compfight.com makes it super easy to search for Flickr images using keywords. You can apply a filter to see only images with Creative Commons licences, or only those with Commercial licences.

I enjoyed this post from BBC journalist Robin Hamman about documenting his life and uploading it to Flickr. Reminded me a little of Everything is Illuminated, a moving story centred on a young man who is a habitual collector and travels to Eastern Europe after his grandfather's death to find the woman who'd helped his grandfather escape the war.

Nice to see nzherald.co.nz inviting readers to send in pics on the fire story. I like the slide show player as well, although the ad at the bottom reloading for each shot is a distraction that detracts somewhat.

Have a look at Brightcove CEO Jeremy Allaire's bio picture (it's a moving experience).
