SENIOR JOURNALIST | SUNDAY STAR-TIMES

We want someone who finds stories of national interest. We want them to also write in-depth features. And we want them to cover breaking news for the country’s best online news service – Stuff.co.nz.

Your expertise as a television producer and ability to generate story ideas, coupled with your superb organisational skills will help capture the essence of the stories New Zealanders get to enjoy. You will have an ability to find interview talent, sub edit scripts and line up the programme in the absence of the Line Up Producer. You’ll need to be tough and not shirk away from conflict, but be fair in your dealings and having good ethics is a must.

You will have a strong on-camera presence and broadcast voice delivery coupled with excellent writing and interviewing skills. To succeed in this role you will be a self-starter, able to work un-supervised, and be driven to identify new or emerging current affairs stories. You will need to be multi-skilled and be prepared to wrangle and look after talent.
