EDITOR | HERITAGE NZ MAGAZINE

This is  request for tender response for editing the NZHPT’s quarterly magazine, Heritage New Zealand as an independent contractor.  We seek a professional, experienced, high energy person – or Editorial team – who will engage positively with the NZHPT, providing editorial services and advice that continue to ensure we produce a high quality, engaging, interesting, informative and entertaining magazine.  The Editor is responsible for commissioning and coordinating contributors to the magazine, provision of services such as subediting and proofreading, and liasing effectively with the NZHPT and other key suppliers involved in the magazine’s production.

JUNIOR JOURNALIST | CAPITAL PUBLISHING

Capital Times is a small independent weekly newspaper covering the news, events and entertainment, and lifestyle of Wellington. Our new junior journalist needs to be competent, quick, flexible, interested in writing good stories, developing news and newsgathering skills and able to meet deadlines. He or she will want to be involved with Wellington: the plays, the shows, the bands, the music, the movies, the events, the art galleries, the council and councillors, the people, and all the other movers, shakers and happenings, and be read by around 60,000 people.

EDITOR | PRIMARY and NZ MARKETING MAGAZINES

Provide editorial leadership on Primary, NZ Marketing and accompanying website www.stoppress.co.nz, generating content and overseeing delivery of finished artwork files to a print-ready state. This includes delegating detailed tasks to a deputy editor. Key duties and responsibilities include: Generate ideas for stories from original research, your own networks and by following current affairs; Delegate detailed editorial tasks to the deputy editor; manage the deputy editor; Commission writers and work with designers to commission photographers and illustrators; Research and write your own stories; Oversee the editing of stories to a ‘clean’ state ready for proof reading; Work with sales team to generate leads and commercial ideas.

Provide assistance to the Editor in creating and managing the editorial content for the magazine and website. EDITOR | ADRENALIN MAGAZINES

Adrenalin Publishing, a leading North Shore-based magazine publisher, is looking for an editor for its two trade titles in the manufacturing and engineering market, DEMM Engineering & Manufacturing, and Electrical Technology. The role would be a full time in-house position. The applicant would be required to have solid credentials in written journalism, preferably in the magazine environment, some experience in terms of planning a magazine such as a previous assistant editor, sub-editor or editor role would be desirable.
