EDITOR/CHIEF REPORTER | APN NEWS SERVICE

APN New Zealand is looking for two senior journalists with proven newsroom leadership skills to play key roles in setting up and managing its new national news service and to work collaboratively with media partners across New Zealand to lead the news agenda each day. The editor of the APNZ News Service will be based in Auckland, working alongside the NZ Herald news teams, and other news gathering staff in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. The chief reporter could work from either Auckland or Wellington.

A working knowledge of farming is a must and the person should be confident to work on their own under direction of the group editor in Auckland. To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience and knowledge of television production and of journalism. Ideally you will have experience developing, commissioning, planning and producing news and current affairs, documentary and magazine style programmes. You will have and an understanding of the Maori culture, Maori language skills would be an advantage but not mandatory. A Tertiary qualification in journalism or Media studies is also desirable.
